Council votes to put 'brakes' on future Thirroul development
Good to see the green party protecting another threatened species - Thirroul's rich left wing armchair labor supporters. It will be the same naysayers complaining when our suburbs, not just our CBD, has even more homeless people, it could potentially be their children, due to a lack of planned and sustainable housing. So many selfish people only thinking of now and themselves, not our future generations.

The mayor's comment about "charmless apartment buildings and lack of character" is a fair description of Wollongong CBD. And who allowed that to happen???
_ Dawn
Good! It's about time. Thirroul is not built for that kind of development.
_ Curt
ALL OF IT! Sydney has been destroyed by over development. Development without the infrastructure to support it destroys suburbs.
_ Charly
I think council should be looking at roads infrastructure before any further development takes place. Traffic is becoming so congested and further development only contributes towards it. My daughter recently bought a house in the new Kembla Grange estate. There are so many new homes in that area, yet the roads are a joke. More accidents waiting to happen.

Western end of Smith street where they have been rejuvenating the soil. Turn it to a green space for children to play and exercise in. There are so many new apartments that end of town with many more going up either side of the railway. Surely we don't need anymore.

Vaping's more than just a whole lot of hot air
Give it 10-20 years and the Hospital's will be full of lung disease problems it will take over from Asbestos disease.

There is always going to be something, whether it be chewing tobacco to smoking to now vaping, there is always going to be something, people need to be more accepting of peoples free choices.
_ Tracey
I would have rather smoked a vape than cigarettes when I was 15.

The new wave vaping epidemic that's sucking the kids in is from all the heroes selling cheap, unregulated and illegal nicotine containing Chinese vapes on snapchat and instagram. No legit vape shop in Australia would sell to under-age kids and none of them should be selling anything containing nicotine. It's illegal in Australia
_ Daniel
Vaping is a zombie thing. When will they all realise it's too much smoke to suck it per puff and it can't ever be the alternative to nicotine. Maybe in 30-50yrs time when the Vaper makers are forced to put a #healthwarning on their products ... its history repeating itself and doomed to end badly.
_ Sally
Government isn't making money of vapes so they do us dirty.
