The 26 foot Shark Cat boat overturned at the bar of the river at around 4am Tuesday, January 4.
Two people, one a fisherman, were on board at the time and made it back to shore safely without calling emergency services.
Marine Rescue NSW responded to a call from a community member who spotted the overturned boat.
Marine Rescue conducted a search of the area in the Shoalhaven 20 vessel and located the two men who were reportedly in good condition.
"They're both safe and well and they've been given a lift back to Greenwell Point," a spokesperson for Marine Rescue NSW said.
After it capsized, the boat drifted two miles north towards Shoalhaven Heads and is still out at sea, according to Marine Rescue NSW skipper Mick Boadle who responded at the scene.
Mr Boadle urged residents to not "proceed to sea" while there is a dangerous swell warning.
"An hour ago it looked like the boat was going to be on the beach, but at this moment its starting to drift out to sea again," said Mr Boadle.
"The main thing people need to be careful of is not to go out to sea when there's a dangerous swell warning because of the danger of capsize on this and any other coastal bar."
