Police say emergency crews found the 61-year-old with serious injuries after they were called to a Park Ridge South property, south of Brisbane, at about 7.30pm on September 29.
Emergency services were responding to reports a man had fallen to the ground after a blow to the head before being struck again multiple times, police say.
Paramedics took the man to a Brisbane hospital where he died on Monday.
Police declared a crime scene at the property and arrested a 33-year-old Park Ridge South man nearby.
He was charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and will appear at Beaudesert Magistrates Court on November 28.
