* On the balance of possibilities, Bruce Lehrmann raped Brittany Higgins in then-defence minister Linda Reynolds' Parliament House office
* The pair spent roughly 40 minutes together in Senator Reynolds' office in the early hours of March 23, 2019
* Lehrmann's intentions in returning to Parliament House were likely not for work purposes as he claimed, but in engaging in sexual contact with Ms Higgins
* He was "hell-bent" on having sex with her and indifferent as to whether she consented or not
* Lehrmann's account that there was no sexual contact between the pair was one of his numerous lies

* Lehrmann sued Ten and journalist Lisa Wilkinson over an interview with Ms Higgins that aired on The Project and contained the allegations
* Justice Lee ruled in favour of Ten and Ms Wilkinson after the broadcaster succeeded in its truth defence, that the rape most likely did take place
* Ten's senior litigation counsel Tasha Smithies was found to have shown a serious lack of judgment in approving a speech given by Wilkinson at the Logies prior to Lehrmann's criminal trial
* Wilkinson was less culpable than those encouraging her to make the speech, Justice Lee said
