An angry and exasperated Lake Illawarra Cricket Club president Billy Clark formulated a plan as he surveyed the vandalised wicket complete with obscenity cut into it at Howard Fowles Oval yesterday.

Clark, who is a director of All Construction Engineering, is willing to put up $1000 for information leading to the conviction of whoever vandalised the wicket.
The matter has been reported to Lake Illawarra police command.
The frustrated Lakers leader began cleaning up the mess in an attempt to get the wicket into a suitable condition for play in the South Coast cricket competition this weekend.
‘‘They’ve scratched something including a profanity into our wicket.
‘‘They’ve obviously turned the sprinklers on to soften the wicket so they can write in it.
‘‘What really angers me is this isn’t paid for by council.
‘‘It’s paid for by volunteers and fund-raisers.’’
