Kiama Surf Club has undergone a huge transformation over the past few years.
The re-development of the club now sees the club boast a first-rate updated member area where members not only enjoy the 'top deck' area, but also the re-vamp members lounge and gym area.
The club has also increased the equipment necessary, from IRB's, rescue paddle boards, training boards, has first class training facilties for both senior and junior members, and having the a radio room which co-ordinates all surf club radio traffic for all surf clubs from Warilla down to the Victorian border - a mammoth task.
In achieving the Club of The Year award, Kiama has succeeded in providing one of the most up to date surf clubs in the South Coast Branch.
Individually Kiama also excelled in the award ceremony, with Neil Langstaff receiving the Trainer or the Year, Kayla Burazin Junior Age Manager of the Year, Alicia Burazin Female Under-8 to10 Competitor of the Year, while Kate Lewis received the special President’s Award.
The Kiama radio operators, now known as Surfcom Kiama, achieved Team of the Year.
All of these awards are the result of everyone in Kiama Surf Life Saving Club working together to provide the Kiama community and visitors the safest visit to their beach.
