On Saturday, the men saw two sides at home and three sides away.
The twos were at home against Oak Flats for a resounding 6-0 win but unfortunately, the good results ended there.
The fours travelled to Bellambi for a 5.5 -.5 loss, the fives were away at Dapto Citizens and could only manage a 5-1 loss, the sixes also away against Figtree, lost 6-0 and the sevens, hosting Dapto Citizens at home, also lost 6-0.
The ladies held their annual Jarrett Cup last Monday with 20 teams from the Illawarra playing in a fours format over two games of 15 ends, all hoping for a slice of the prizes.
The overall winner on a countback was a team from Bellambi having two wins and plus 17 shots. The overall runner-up, also with two wins and plus 17, was a team from Gerringong. A Kiama team took out the morning winner's prize and the afternoon winner's prize went to a Windang team. A great day of friendly competition and thankfully the threat of rain did not develop.
Till next time, good bowling,
Roll-up Ron
