When Coniston Football Club put out a call for assistance to get its home ground ready for the new season, the hardware store rolled up its sleeves and kicked into gear.
Since October, 30 Bunnings employees have put in more than 300 hours of work into the Coniston fields – getting the grass cut, the fields laid out properly, and tidying up a myriad of other small issues.
The Coniston club, celebrating its 60-year anniversary, has been given a timely facelift.
On Saturday morning, Coniston players joined the Illawarra Stingrays, TSA Football School and Bunnings team members for an all-day working bee to finish off the maintenance project.
A free sausage sizzle BBQ was manned by volunteers, as workers toiled in the hot sun.
Hardware suppliers included Dulux, Taubmans and BGC.
