The former Wollongong Hawks player was ordered to be taken by police to a mental health facility for assessment when his matter was mentioned at Central Local Court on Wednesday.
Shortly before midnight on June 2, Martin allegedly parked his Holden Cruze near the Lindt Cafe in Martin Place.
He hurled the rocks through three of the cafe's windows before returning to his car and taking off down the street, police say.
