Paul Murray is expecting a low-key debut when Miranna steps out for the first time at Kembla Grange.
The four-year-old daughter of Magic Albert has taken time to get to the races but will finally get the chance in a Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap (1200m) on Saturday's opening day of the new season.
"Apparently Peter Snowden had her before me and she had been tying up a fair bit which is probably an immaturity thing. I have had no trouble with her but she needs ground if anything," Murray said. "She will need the run. She wants it a lot further and will probably need 1400m to the mile."
Miranna kicks-off a busy day for Murray at his home track. The Kembla trainer has four runners in his own name on the card, despite only having a current team of seven in work. He plans to step up that number as the new season wears on.
"I have got a lot of two-year-olds coming into work next week," Murray said.
"There is about half a dozen of them. I got rid of a lot of rubbish and re-stocked with the babies."
Murray's day will continue with Testamycolours in a Maiden Plate (1600m).
The five-year-old is yet to salute after 14 starts following a last-start sixth further down the South Coast.
"She ran a nice race at Moruya which was probably a bit short for her but she has been looking for the mile," Murray said. "It's been hard to get [the distance] for her.
"She has pulled up good, so she should run well."
Murray will also start Alert Status and Fast Track Magic.
