Dr Pappe, the author of The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, will present a public lecture at 5.30pm on Monday at the Collaborative Struggle conference.
It is one of just a few public engagements for the social activist and academic while in Australia - another is a talk entitled Israel is an Apartheid State at the Festival of Dangerous Ideas at the Sydney Opera House tomorrow.
UOW conference convener Dr Marcelo Svirsky said Dr Pappe's talk on the history of the collaborative struggle in Palestine would be the highlight of the Wollongong conference.
"Ilan deconstructed the Zionist narrative about how Israel was created, and documented the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians," he said.
"He will talk not only about the conflict between the Jews and Palestinians but about the collaboration too, and I imagine there'll be some very political questions from the audience about what's going on in the region now," Dr Svirsky said.
Though protests have accompanied Dr Pappe's talks in the past, the secretary of the Wollongong branch of the Australasian Union of Jewish Students, Will Nemesh, said members would not rally at the event.
