The event is a fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Australia, and almost $40,000 has been raised so far.
All the funds will be used for support services in the Illawarra.
John Watkins from Alzheimer’s Australia NSW was pleased with the turnout.
“We are so delighted with the level of support and community spirit shown at today’s Memory Walk & Jog,” Mr Watkins said.
“It was fantastic to see almost 1000 people out running and walking in support of people with dementia.”
