The Knights secured back-to-back victories on home soil, thanks to a brilliant attacking onslaught in the first period while showing plenty of spirit and determination in defence.
Albion Park generated plenty of opportunities in the second half when given but couldn’t match the blistering attack and well organised defensive structure of the home side.
The Kiama Knights Rugby League Football Club held their annual Ladies day and raised awareness for the Joanne Mackay Breast Cancer Foundation.
In honour of the occasion, the women’s exhibition match between the Knights and the Eagles took place before first grade where Kiama won 8-4 on the siren.
A minute silence also occurred in memory of long time Knights supporter and former trainer Ken Boothroyd.
The home side got off to a flyer as Tom Atkins and Oliver Powell both crashed over from close proximity.
Cameron Vazzoler added the extra two points and the Knights raced to an early 10-nil lead.
The Eagles fought back in the best possible fashion as young gun Jiye Ellis pounced on a well waited grubber kick from Scott Morgan.
Aaron Merrick converted from the eastern touchline as they trailed the Knights 10-6.
Kiama would go on point scoring blitzkrieg as Cameron Vazzoler conjured up an excellent individual effort inside the Eagles 20 metre line.
Lachlan Farrell and Cameron Whittaker were assisted by clever ball work for their respective efforts and Cameron Cornell on the back of nice left side attacking shift.
Vazzoler slotted two more conversions as his side bolted to a 32-6 lead at the break.
The Eagles showed promising signs to cross the white chalk but couldn’t make use of a 12-man Knights team when Blake Rickard was sin binned by referee Beau Chamberlain.
The Knights were rewarded for their tough defence as Lachlan Farrell secured a double and Cameron Cornell clinched a hat trick which included an amazing 80 metre solo effort.
Vazzelor landed two more goals as Kiama ran out winners by 48-6.
For Kiama Cameron Cornell, Cameron Whittaker, Vaughan Thistlethwaite, Lachlan Farrell and Cameron Vazzoler were outstanding while Blake Jones, Simon Harris, Jiye Ellis and Jack Scurr did what they could for Albion Park-Oak Flats.
