The internationally recognised brandis adding an extra sparkle to the refurbished shopping centre that has recently been rejuvenated with the opening of a new world class David Jones and food hall.
When the doors opened at 9am on Thursday there was immediate interest from shoppers already thinking about Christmas.
The other good news is more casual positions are being created in coming weeks in the lead up to the festive season.
Swarovski Wollongong store manager Raj Patel said seven full time positions have already been created for the opening which comes at a good time for the crystal and jewellery store to start with a bang.
“Swarovski is a premium brand and this is a premium store setting,” Mr Patel said.
“Normal trading hours are 9am to 5.30pm, on Thursdays we stay open until 9pm, Saturday from 9am to 4pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm.”
“We will definitely be taking on two to three Christmas casuals.”
It is the second Swarovski store in the Illawarra.
There is already a Crystal Forest in Shellharbour.
Swarovski is renowned for glamourous crystal jewellery, watches and figurines.
The new store opening comes hot on the heels of the launch of the annual Christmas windows and the unveiling of Santa’s grotto.
And just days before a new burger joint officially opens in Globe Lane at Midday on Sunday.
Another Burger Joint has a Japanese style and invokes the spirit of the popular movie franchise’s “Tokyo Drift” instalment.
The grand opening features 15 modified, high performance Japanese cars on display along Globe Lane.
The emphasis of the day is on fun.
The multi-level restaurant and bar serves Japanese-inspired burgers, hotdogs, snacks, Japanese sodas and thickshakes.
The opening also marks the unveiling of the dedicated Asahi Bar on the ground floor which captures the laidback lifestyle and look of traditional Japan.
The middle floor houses the restaurant and main bar while the mezzanine boasts an array of arcade games and pinball machines.
