Stosur made her debut in Australia’s 3-2 victory over Colombia at WIN Entertainment Centre, losing to Fabiola Zuluaga in a griping three-set clash. Despite the result, she remembers the tie positively.
“It was my first tie, I was pretty young,” Stosur said.
“I played my first match and lost 6-4 in the third, but I had an unbelievable experience, I still remember it. That was the start of all my years playing Fed Cup, and representing my country.”
Stosur has an impressive 36-17 record in Fed Cup rubbers and, with the fire still burning inside of her, she is looking forward to helping Australia overcome the Dutch.
“Absolutely the fire’s still there, you shouldn’t be here if it’s not. I’m really looking forward to this weekend, it’s great to be back again.”
