Children and adults can take part in workshops from 11am to 2pm each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until October 11.
They will include Mandala Illustration, charcoal drawing and Japanese calligraphy – and can be booked through the Wild Rumpus website.
“The Big Draw is all about letting loose, experimenting and most importantly having fun,” Wollongong Lord mayor Gordon Bradbery said.
“This is all part of our ongoing focus to bring people in to the City Centre and take a fresh look at the diversity of what’s on offer.”
A live interactive public drawing session will be held on Saturday October 6 from 10am to 2pm with more workshops on nature illustration, Geo 3D drawing, oceanographic sketching and Mandala art.
The international festival originally began in the UK in 2000, and now has over 400,000 people participating each year. Founders of the visual literacy charity aim to promote the universal language of drawing as a tool for learning, expression and invention.
