ADDING FUEL TO FIRE
Having on 27 occasions opposed a royal commission into the bvanks and other Lending entities, Scott Morrison needs something to distract the Australian electorate from his shortcomings.

Perhaps “Scomo might gain some electoral credibility should he have the courage to confront the fuel price manipulations of the oil companies?
For it would be difficult to nominate any goods and services relied upon by Australian citizens which are not dramatically affected by the cost of fuel.
Surely even our political class despite living in the “Canberra Bubble” for periods of time, are aware of the price gouging tactics of the oil companies each Christmas and Easter or on Public Holidays involving a long week-end?
Yet neither of the major parties when in power, have had the guts to “pull the oil companies on” over this predatory practice.
Our federal governments have also allowed major supermarket chains to monopolise service stations, offering discounts of a few cents per litre to attract custom.
Discounts one might reasonably consider, already compensated by price hikes on their “in-store items!”.
Come on “SCOMO” immediately legislate a nationwide fixed price per litre of fuel; as a first step toward reigning in the greedy oil companies.

ONE VOTE ONE VALUE
It would seem that a snowball has more of a chance in hell than a woman has getting into a Coalition Government.
When the Liberals turned their back on Julie Bishop and put Scott Morrison at the helm, they were oblivious to the fact that so many Australians held Julie in very high regard, that they rejected her leadership bid on an out of date male dominance or nothing ideology.
Australians are missing out on being represented by many potentially good candidates due to the stupid preferential voting system we have in place.
One Vote One Value has long gone out of the window since Labor brought preferential voting in. It has become an election based on One Vote and Somebody Else's Value.
I am sure that we could get better political leaders chosen by names drawn from a lotto machine, as we always seem to be missing out in picking a real winner.

CLAIMS A DISGRACE
In response to the page 21 article ‘Court pick Kavanaugh denies assault claim’ (Illawarra Mercury, Saturday September 29, 2018), in these times, a woman only has to point her finger and make unsubstantiated claims against a man, and the feminist outrage movement with help from a left-wing media goes into overdrive.
The malicious claims against Supreme Court nomination Bret Kavanaugh are a disgrace.
The outrageous stories against him, for which there were no witnesses, and the trial by media must be collapsing because Kavanaugh is getting the votes.
The purpose of both the claims and media coverage are to stop Kavanaugh's nomination, and discredit President Donald Trump.
Well, so much for an impartial media with integrity.
