It should come as no surprise, but former Hawks Nick Kay and Mitch Norton certainly left an impression in their return to Wollongong as Perth Wildcats on Sunday.

The young guns controversially jumped ship from Illawarra in the off-season and wasted little time reminding Hawks fan what they can offer in a 90-81 Perth win at WIN Entertainment Centre.
Kay finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds while Norton’s leadership proved crucial down the stretch as he tallied 10 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Asked if the duo were keen to make an impact in their return to Wollongong, Perth coach Trevor Gleeson said; “I think so.”
“We didn’t really discuss it. Nick has been playing great, he has been doing those double-doubles for us all the time.
“I thought he was unbelievable to start the game.
“I think he scored the first four points and got rebounds.
“Then down the stretch when they were challenging he got to the foul line. I think he hit them all. They are great people and great guys.
“They are certainly buying into what we are doing and have added to our chemistry within the group.”
The duo’s impact game at an important time for Perth, with Damian Martin, Angus Brandt and Terrico White all sidelined through injury for the match.
Brandt has undergone scans for an ankle injury, but the club are waiting for the results while Martin and White are expected to remain on the sidelines in the coming weeks. Perth return to Wollongong two days before Christmas.
