The former Parramatta Eels footballer presented himself at Ryde police station at around 4pm on Monday afternoon where he is now in the process of being charged over the alleged assault.
The alleged victim was reportedly in contact with Hayne via social media beforehand and claims to have photographic evidence of the injuries she sustained during the alleged incident.
She was interviewed by the NRL integrity unit before reporting the matter to the NSW Police Sex Crimes Squad last week.
