At 2.40pm on Monday, Lake Illawarra Highway Patrol officers pulled over a blue Toyota Camry on Masters Road at Port Kembla.
The 20-year-old driver took an oral drug test, which allegedly showed a positive result for methamphetamine.
Following a search of the vehicle, police allegedly discovered 77 ecstasy tablets and a 14cm knife.
The man was taken to Port Kembla police station where he allegedly again tested positive to methamphetamine.
He was charged with supplying a prohibited drug, driving while suspended and carrying a knife in a public place.
He was granted conditional bail and will appear in Port Kembla Local Court on February 20.
