A senior member of the Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) has been arrested after a raid on his Warilla home allegedly uncovered restricted substances and $41,000 in cash.

As part of ongoing targeting of the illicit activities of outlaw bikie gangs in the Illawarra, Strike Force Raptor South executed a search warrant at the home around 5pm on Monday.
During the search, police said they seized the cash, Buprenorphine strips, a set of knuckledusters, steroids, plus various documentation alleged to be “drug ledgers”.
The 29-year-old male resident was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with possess suspected proceeds of crime, supply prohibited drug, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and two counts of possess prohibited drug.
The man, who is a senior member of the local chapter of the Rebels OMCG, was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday February 13.
Inquiries into the matter will continue.
Strike Force Raptor was established in 2009 and conducts proactive investigations and intelligence-based, high-impact policing operations to prevent and disrupt conflicts, and dismantle any network engaged in serious organised criminal activity.
In April 2018, the Strike Force established full-time bases in the Hunter and Illawarra regions.
Since July 2018, Raptor South has arrested 95 people and laid more than 230 charges (for all areas they cover, not just the Illawarra).
