Hall was carded rounds of 86,79, and 85 to win by three shots from The Lake's Geoffrey Everett, with Mollymook's John Stephens in third.
An infrequent competitor in the NSW senior amateur ranks, it was the first time Hall had claimed victory in the event.
Closer to home, however, his record is remarkable, with pretty well every district title to his name, with almost 50 appearances on the honour board at Port Kembla in a career that stretches back to the 1960s.
- Round robin wrap-up
The semi-finalists of the B pennant and finalists of Encourage Shield are confirmed after the final round robin matches were held in atrocious conditions last weekend.
Division one of the B pennant saw Links Shell Cove cement top spot with a 4-1 win over St George's Basin.
The Vale leapfrogged Kiama to claim the other semi-final spot after a 5-0 shutout of Gerringong. Kiama went down 3-2 in the other match.
Division two at Shoalhaven Heads saw leaders Highlands play the hosts who were too good at home, winning 4 1/2 to 1/2. The win saw Shoalhaven Heads finish on top of the division.
Moss Vale and The Grange clashed with the winner earning the right to join Shoalhaven Heads in the semifinals. Moss Vale came out on top 3-2 with Brodie Smith's 1-up win over Brad Douglas ensuring Moss Vale progressed.
In the Encourage Shield, Wollongong has gone through the preliminary rounds undefeated after a solid 4 1/2 to 1 1/2 win over Kiama at Wollongong.
St George's Basin-Vincentia and Russell Vale battled to see who will play Wollongong in the final. The Vale won 3.5-2.5. However, The Vale needed to win at least five matches to overtake St George's Basin-Vincentia.
The semi-finals will be held this Sunday, with the Illawarra pennant and White Horse Cup at Links Shell Cove.
The B and C pennant finals will be at Gerringong. Play will commence at both venues from 7.00 am.
