This inter-pub comp format has been running for 12 years and is run under specifically tailor-made rules so each club has a level playing (fishing) field.
The aim is each club chases a single NSW bag limit for 14 species and scoring is a single point per fish.
Then there is 10 points per kilo of weight or part thereof and a bonus 100 points is allocated for each species bagged out.
Ocean Beach has held the title for the past four years and were deadset keen to make it five in a row but Warilla had other ideas.
As the weigh-in progressed a lot of ooohs and ahhs rumbled through the gatherings when Dan Gamble tabled his 47 kilo yellowfin tuna and the Shellharbour crew started to look worried.
Final results saw Ocean Beach scoring 2427.90 points but Warilla had 3006.40 and took the cup and bragging rights for the next 12 months.
Another sensational friendly comp, plenty of banter and sledging and both clubs are to be congratulated on their efforts in actually both capturing the designated species and full bag limits.
