Rangers scored five goals or more for the fourth time this season, demolishing Port Kembla 5-1 on Sunday to stay with three points of leaders Wollongong Olympic.
They've now scored 38 goals in 13 games, 12 more than Olympic and only challenged by third-placed Albion Park.
And remarkably, Rangers trailed 1-nil at half-time, after Sandy Lowcock handed Port the opener in the 39th minute.
But Corrimal produced a staggering second half, with Tomoki Wada scoring a double, as well as Tim Whulie, Ben Zucco and Van Elia running away with it.
Olympic maintained their buffer at the top of the Illawarra Premier League with a 2-1 success against Coniston, while Woonona continued their march with a 3-nil win in the northern derby against Bulli.
Woonona are fourth, six points off the lead, despite a negative goal differential.
South Coast United coach Greg Valic hopes an 80th minute equaliser on Saturday could come in handy at the end of the season.
A first-half lead vanished when relegation rivals Fernhill found two goals in five minutes, but Valic pulled it back in the closing stages to finish at 2-all at Ray Robinson Field.
It leaves United three points adrift of Fernhill at the bottom of the table, but a loss would have made it five, in a situation which has intensified mid-season after Cringila secured another win, this time against Tarrawanna.
"We know we're in a tough spot, but we'll keep fighting," Valic said. "It was a hard one for us, because we were leading, so we could have won the game, but when you're down 2-1 with 10 to go, you're also happy enough to take a point.
"We've got a smaller squad and budget than other clubs, but we have been able to bring a few talented young players into first grade and we've seen adapt and improve. Cringila have shown how quickly it can all change, a couple of results and the pressure is off a bit more, so we just have to keep believing and pushing."
Blake Friedrich and Jordan Hughes struck in quick time for Fernhill to lead 2-1 on the hour mark, after Cameron Hanson opened the scoring after 26 minutes.
Having beaten South Coast 4-2 and leaders Wollongong Olympic 2-nil, Cringila continued their successful run since Stuart Beedie has come on board as coach, overpowering Tarrawanna by two goals.
Anthony Romeo delivered for the Lions early, before Takao Teramoto doubled their advantage just before half-time.
The alarm bells are ringing for the Blueys, who were beaten by South Coast United last week.
"That was really important for our confidence, especially for the young players to know we can win big games," Valic said.
Elsewhere, Albion Park striker Cameron Morgan continued his sparkling form, converting a stunning free kick in a 2-nil win over top five rivals Wollongong United on Saturday.
Morgan scored all six goals in a 6-1 win over Port Kembla last week. Yuki Uno doubled their advantage with a strike from range in the 77th minute.
