CHANGE IN THE WIND
With the miracle election just recently won, I think there now will be a strong possibility Scott Morrison's government will extend the highly regressive goods and services tax by 15% to apply to commodities that are currently exempt from the GST we have now.

I could be wrong but when John Hewson led the Coalition in opposition in the 1980s he boasted the Coalition would introduce the GST but he lost the subsequent election because the public did not want a GST tax.
When John Howard became Liberal leader he was smarter and more devious.
He promised he wouldn't introduce a GST but when the Coalition gained office in 1996 he immediately did so.
However I don't think Scott will get away with this increase even though he does have a miraculously safe parliament majority.
It would have to be approved by state governments and the Senate.
So it's up to them to reject any such move by an odious Morrison government.

HERE TO STAY
Why do the Lefties in this area always commence with name calling when someone writes something that is not in their ideological mindset.
I do not know what fascist elements in our society Mr Bielefeldt is referring to.
Is it the Greens? Could be.
Is it the Labor Party? Possibly.
So without clarifying information, nothing to talk about. Mr Bielefeldt states that one of the best aspects of a Liberal democracy is that we have a free press that can shine a light on contentious issues so that we can have an open debate as to what is important in our society.
No argument there, but unfortunately open debate is always shouted down by the Left so open debate is impossible.
Freedom of the Press is important.
But so is the security of our country and people who divulge secret information because of their beliefs, ideology or just mischievous intent are not acceptable in any society.
So Mr Bielefeldt I will not be leaving the best country in the world.

BRING IN THE CLOWNS
The carnival clowns before the election: "The economy is in good shape; we even have a surplus".
The clowns sat at the table. "We will give it a couple of months for the downturn to set-in-then we will point the finger".
Election night: It transpired, the carnival was not over! The clowns were back in business. There was enough interest to have them performing for another season.
Why the long faces?

A HUMBLE CHAMP
What a wonderful achievement for tennis player Ashleigh Barty,
An amazing athlete who goes about her work very humbly and always credits her whole team for her success.
There are no bad manners, personal quarrels or lack of sportsmanship what so ever.
She is a true role model for a lot of people and losing sleep to watch her play is worthwhile.
