The director/producer of St Joseph's Catholic High School Albion Park musical 'You're History' could not be prouder of the almost 80 cast and crew involved in the "terrific show".
"They've been working on this since February and it's come together so well. There's some serious talent in the group," Elise Burns said.
"They're also not afraid of some hard work. We've been rehearsing twice a week since February, and stepped it up to three times a week in the last month."
'You're History' starts when a mischievous detention class is sent hurtling back through history after a nerdy teenager turns a portable classroom into a time machine.
The time-warped team discover vicious vikings, pilates-practicing pirates, disco-happy gladiators, a rapping Romeo and Juliet and the infamous Oedipus on Ellen (with overtones of Jerry Springer).
"With parallels between hierarchical history and today's schoolyard, this is a rollicking musical chock-full of wonderful characters, historical mayhem and sensational songs," Burns said.
You're History opens at Roo Theatre Shellharbour on Wednesday night (7.30pm), with more performances on Friday (11.30am and 7.30pm) and Saturday (2pm and 7pm).
