Chloe Haine played for the 15 years NSW Country team that took out their pool at the competition, while Sienna Saveska played a starring role for the 14 years NSW Metro that finished second in their division.
The two girls said it was a great experience to spend a week playing with and against some of the best female footballers in the country and becoming friends with fellow promising talents.
"It felt great after we won," Haine said. "We were the first Country team to win in five years. All the other teams, including the Metro team, think Country can't do it because we're country girls and we live far away from each other.
"We played really well and I thought I went well. It was my second year being up there, so having two different coaches was a big experience for me."
Saveska is regarded as one of the brightest football prospects at the school, the 12-year-old playing against girls two years her senior at the National Championships, while she regularly plays against 15-year-olds for Illawarra Sports High.
A member of the premiership-winning Football NSW Institute Under 15 girls side, the skillful forward has her eyes set on securing grand final glory for the team this weekend.
Once she ticks that box, she'll turn her focus to her long-term goal of representing her country.
"It was really cool playing at nationals," Saveska said. "I got to play against all the other teams and I got to see how the other states play football.
"It's a challenge playing against older girls, but I like a challenge.
"I'm hoping to make it in the Institute again and then later on make it to Junior Matildas and hopefully one day the Matildas."
