Contesting the only first grade match to be played on Saturday, the Razorbacks set an imposing total with the bat before the bowlers secured a convincing victory.

Captain Brett Gilly set the tone at the top of the order, scoring 74 runs, while Tobin contributed 113.

Having set the Eagles a target of 8/271, The Rail's bowlers restricted their opponents to 6/69.

"It was a pretty big win for us," Gilly said. "The batsmen did their job and then the blokes with the ball are on fire at the right time of year.

"The rain meant we couldn't get an outright win which might hurt us in getting to the top two. We're still a chance though, with two games left and if results go our way."

With Oak Flats' clash with Shellharbour washed out, The Rail leapfrogged the Rats into third on the ladder.

That may not last long, however, with the two teams set to face off in a two-day clash starting Saturday.

For Gilly, this week's win provides a solid platform for the crucial match.

"We haven't lost a game since November, we're building nicely.

"Next week's the big test against Oak Flats, we'll battle it out with a top-four team.

"We're pretty confident, we got the wood over them the last time we played. It's always a good game, we're all mates off the field.

"They look forward to it and we look forward to it as well. A lot of players have played for both clubs, so it will be a good game."
