Just before 12pm on Wednesday, South Coast Police District officers were patrolling Nowra CBD when they saw a Jamie William Pearce wanted by police for breaching bail.
He allegedly fled the scene on a bicycle as he saw police approaching.

Traffic control operator Stipe Krapljanov-Sparks said he and his brother were standing at either end of a truck on Osbourne Street "being lollipop ladies and noticed a few cop cars up the street but didn't think anything of it".
"Then I looked back and old mate...is on a bike and pedals towards me," he told the Mercury.
"I started recording because either way something was going to happen."
Then he stuck the pole through the front wheel of the bike, stopping it and causing Pearce to fall off.
Police officers then arrived on foot and arrested Pearce.
He taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with possess prohibited drug, enter enclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, and breach of bail.
Pearce was refused bail and appeared in Wollongong Local Court via audiovisual link on Thursday.
He must report to Nowra police station daily, live at a Nowra home, abide by a curfew from 8pm to 8am and must be treated at a community mental health centre.
He will be back in court on May 18.
