Liam Bennett was banned from going anywhere near his mother's Woonona home under the terms of an AVO but turned up at her house on the evening of November 3 last year asking to use her phone so he could arrange somewhere to stay.
She told him to leave but he ignored her, saying "let me in and let me get the computer, get on Facebook or just let me have your phone so I can...try and contact my friend".
When she again refused, Bennett began banging on the kitchen and laundry window and rattling the back security door.
The victim told her son she was going to call the police, as she was afraid he would damage the door.
Bennett then turned the power off to the house, prompting the victim to move into her bedroom and shut the door.
She contacted triple zero.
Bennet then kicked the back door in, causing it to break off from the mid-section to the bottom.
Bennet entered the property and went to his mother's room, took her phone out of her hand and left the house.
Bennett was subsequently charged with aggravated break, enter and steal, to which he pleaded guilty in court last week.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
