Yve Repin, an 84-year-old violinist who started the original group with a number of performers in 2004, is stepping down from her role as manager.
"I will continue in a back room role, managing admin [sic] and finance matters, and it will still be me picking up the phone if you ring us," she said in a statement.
Ms Repin originally formed SCS by inviting personal and professional contacts she had throughout the region, though that group disbanded in 2005. In 2014 another violinist Kyle Little reformed the orchestra, with Ms Repin again volunteering her services.
Musician and composer Jeremy Boulton will take over the role of manager.
"[She] has my complete admiration in the work she has carried out over almost six years and I hope to continue the high standard," Mr Boulton said of his predecessor.
Meanwhile, due to rising uncertainty in NSW due to changing restrictions around COVID-19, SCS have cancelled all September shows.
Ticket-holders will be contacted.
