The grandson of prominent Illawarra Aboriginal elder Aunty Lorraine Brown has been refused bail in court on serious domestic violence and gun allegations involving his pregnant girlfriend.

Emmett Brown, who also goes by the name Emmett Langlo, stands accused of sending his estranged partner a picture of himself holding a .22 calibre sawn-off shot gun along with a text message which read "oi, my baby girl, I got something for you my baby girl".
The 23-year-old allegedly followed up the picture message with further threats including telling her "I'll put a bullet in your head" and "once I'm finished with you, I'll go after your family, I know where they all live".
Brown was arrested on Monday, charged with multiple offences and remanded in custody.
He faced Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday where he sought bail to live with his grandmother at her Tom Brown Parade home, however Magistrate Jillian Kiely refused to release him on account of the seriousness of the allegations against him.
Documents tendered to the court reveal Brown and the woman began seeing each other in January this year and she soon fell pregnant with his child.
However, police will allege the pair's relationship was marred by emotional and physical abuse and they separated and got back together multiple times before the relationship ended for good in early July.
The picture of the gun was allegedly sent to the victim in June during a separation period.
The woman told police she feared Brown intended to kill her.
However, the pair apparently rekindled their relationship and spent the night of July 3 together without incident.
They split up again the following day and Brown allegedly punched the woman in the face, splitting her nose open, while he was at the house picking up his belongings.
The woman said he eventually stopped and apologised to her and the pair continued their day as if nothing had happened.
The relationship ended for good on July 7.
Police will allege Brown sent a series of manipulative messages to the woman over the next few weeks, including "I f--king do love you, I say shit, that doesn't mean I'm going to hit you c--t".
Other messages featured direct threats: "IDC [I don't care] where you're at, I just going to put a couple of rounds in your mum's house and I might kick in the door."
At one stage brown allegedly told the woman she was "going into a hole".
On July 21, Brown allegedly sent a text message demanded to know if she was speaking to someone else.
She told him no one, however he allegedly sent her a picture messages of black handgun with the message "if not, you got this coming to you and your family tonight, I swear on everything."
The woman reported the incidents to Lake Illawarra Police Station.
Police carried out a search warrant at Brown's house three days later.
The court heard neither of the firearms features in the pictures sent to the victim were found, however police did uncover a replica gun, along with ammunition.
Brown was not home at the time and allegedly told friends he had no intention of handing himself in and was "actively avoiding police".
In court on Tuesday, defence lawyer Lemar Miakhel claimed the case against Brown in relation to the discovery of the replica firearm was not a strong one.
"The police will have problems proving exclusive possession," he said.
The matter will return to court on August 20 for mention.
