Christopher Sheedy, 34, pleaded guilty in Wollongong Local Court last month to two counts of property damage and one count each of contravening an apprehended violence order and threatening to distribute an intimate image without consent stemming from the July 2019 incident.
In court on Friday, Magistrate Claire Girotto sentenced Sheedy to two years good behaviour in the form of a community corrections order and he also must complete 150 hours of community service.
"You have to stop being so self-centered," Magistrate Girotto told Sheedy.
"You should be ashamed of yourself. When a relationship is over, you don't do what you did and you definitely don't pour bleach over someone's property.
"Threatening to release sexual images is an awful thing to do to someone."
Documents tendered to the court reveal Sheedy and his former partner were an item for two-and-a-half years before splitting up in February 2019.
However, they appeared to remain in contact, and police were called to the woman's Kiama home on July 21 over a domestic violence incident where Sheedy used his own head to smash a lounge room window.
He was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where an AVO was granted banning him from going within 50 metres of the victim's house.
The victim told police she left home later that afternoon to run an errand, but left her mobile phone in the house because she feared Sheedy was using it to track her movements.
She said she received a call from a male friend later that day telling her Sheedy had contacted him using her phone.
The victim returned home at 7.30pm to discover bleach had been squirted over her two brown leather lounges, in her bed and throughout her closet and underwear drawer, ruining all her clothes.
There was also birthday cake smeared on the sheets and pillows, she said.
Meanwhile, Sheedy arrived at the house a short time later and returned the woman's phone, then left.
However, he began sending her explicit images of herself and saying "I will send them around if you keep going".
The woman contacted police and they arrived a short time later and took her statement.
The officers had not long left when Sheedy returned to the woman's house and began banging on the door, asking to be let in.
The victim started recording the interaction on her phone, telling him "Chris you need to leave, there is an AVO in place and you cannot be within 50m of this address".
Sheedy replied "I'm not leaving", however did eventually leave when the woman said she was calling the police.
The officers returned to the property just before midnight and took a further statement from the victim, who told them she was terrified Sheedy would continue to breach the AVO because he'd told her earlier that he "didn't care" if he went to jail.
Sheedy attended Lake Illawarra Police Station the following morning and was charged.
In court on Friday, Magistrate Girotto took into account Sheedy's limited record at the time of the incident and his favourable sentence assessment reports, as well as job prospects when handing down her judgement.
