Police were called to Lake Windermere Caravan Park to reports a man, armed with a gun, was walking around the park before 10am.
A large police presence responded, including the police dog unit, and a short time later he was arrested in possession of an air-rifle.
The man was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with firearm offences.
He was given police bail and is due to appear in Port Kembla Court in March.
