Police were called to the home in Bunderra Drive around 6.30am on Friday, February 19 following reports of shots being fired at the property.
It is understood the shots from a rifle came from a dark coloured SUV, fired from nearby Mackay Street.
South Coast Police Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Scott Nelson, said one of the bullets fired into the home narrowly missed a male inside.
It is understood the bullet missed the man by mere centimetres.
"There were three people, a man, woman and a young child inside the house at the time and thankfully they were all uninjured," Det Insp Nelson said.
"They are assisting us with inquiries.
Two large gunshots through the front windows of the home were visible about 10.15am this morning.
A resident on the street said they did not hear anything when the gunfire occurred.
"It's usually a pretty nice street, we just get some dodgy people walking past but other than that, it's fine," she said.
"Nothing like this has happened before."
Police are looking to speak to two men they believe may be able to assist them with their inquiries.
One of the men was seen at the time wearing a yellow and orange high-vis vest.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area, or who may have captured this on dashcam, to contact Nowra Police Station on 4421 9699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
