The Kiama athlete claimed his fourth round win, this time in Enduro, for 2021 on Friday. He crossed the finish line more than 90 seconds in front of Jy Timperley.
Day will return to Kingscliffe Beach this weekend, aiming to become the first Ironman to sweep all rounds in one series. It's been a remarkable effort from Day, who spent two years in the wilderness following a wrist injury.
Ahead of the final two rounds, Day sits on top of the leaderboard on 80 points. While happy with his performances, for now, recovery remains his top priority.
"Saturday is really an endurance race as well, you've got to do four back-to-back races with not much rest in between and then put it all together in an iron," Day said.
"On Saturday, I've just got to make sure I turn up focused and ready to race."
