Cameron Kelly aka Cameron McTiernan, 38, and Dwayne Diaz, 35, appeared in Wollongong Local Court on Friday where they were both refused bail after they were arrested in raids at their homes in the past two days.
Documents tendered to court said as part of the Strike Force Cohen police investigation, officers identified Kelly and Diaz as alleged suppliers of large commercial quantities of methylamphetamine in June 2020.
As part of the investigation, three men and a woman were charged with supplying drugs in August last year and all four remain before the courts.
The investigation continued and involved telephone intercepts as well as physical and covert surveillance where police uncovered "a myriad of evidence" alleging Kelly and Diaz were involved in the daily supply of drugs to a wide customer base throughout Wollongong and Lake Illawarra areas.
Police allege Kelly would utilise Diaz to test and store the large quantities of meth at his home and would "assist in getting multiple ounces of meth for he and Kelly to on-supply".
Police allege the pair would speak in "code" using words such as "pebbles", "dust", "shards", "chunks" or "pieces" when referring to their drug supplies, capabilities and own drug use.
They would also allegedly use terms such as "dot", "G", "half" or "big one" when referring to the amount of drugs.
Police allege Diaz would go to Kelly's home to not only purchase but deliver bulk amounts of prohibited drugs.
Kelly alleged stopped using his mobile phone after his associates were arrested over their alleged involvement in supplying drugs in August last year but then began using a different mobile number in "a direct attempt to avoid detection by police".
Police allege Diaz used four mobile phone numbers in an "attempt to evade police detection" and he was identified as "Dazza" through the intercepts of Kelly's phone.
On one occasion in July, Diaz was allegedly supplied one ounce of meth from Kelly in exchange for $10,000.
While on another occasion on November 22 last year, police allege Kelly and Diaz were in possession of at least 10 ounces, which is 280 grams, of ice which was allegedly destined to be sold to their customers.
Throughout the investigation, police allege Diaz was captured either supplying or possessing 738 grams of meth with an estimated street value of $235,000.
Police raided Kelly's home at Nanawilli Street, Berkeley on Thursday before arresting him.
During a search of Kelly's property, police seized several items including methylamphetamine, cannabis, cash and a motor vehicle believed to be obtained from the proceeds of crime.
While Diaz was arrested at his Rhondda Street, Berkeley home on Friday. During the raid, police allegedly found 88 grams of meth and $3320 in cash.
Kelly was charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), 26 counts of supply prohibited drug and two counts of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis.
Diaz was charged with 11 counts of supplying prohibited drugs
Kelly did not apply for bail and it was formally refused while Diaz's lawyer said his client's partner court could offer $15,000 surety and report to police daily.
However, registrar Tina McKenna refused to grant Diaz bail noting the seriousness of the allegations before the case was adjourned to Monday.
Kelly will return to court in April.
