A young p-plater has been ordered to stand trial after he allegedly crashed his high-powered car, killing his friend, in the Royal National Park last year.

Fairfield's Mohsen Sleiman was formally committed to trial on two charges - dangerous driving occasioning death in a drive manner dangerous and failing to stop and assist after a vehicle impact caused death - over the April 25 incident.
In Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday, the Director of Public Prosecutions formally withdrew the more serious charge of aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death travelling at a speed of more than 45 over the limit.
The other charges of a P1 driver exceeding the speed limit by more than 45 km/h; and dangerous driving occasioning death driving at a dangerous speed were also withdraw.
While the charges of negligent driving occasioning death; not keeping left of a dividing line; not complying with P1 high performance vehicle restriction and P1 driver exceeding speed by more than 30 km/h with be back-up charges.
Sleiman appeared in court where his barrister Roland Bonnici indicated there were procedural processes that needed to be determined before the trial could begin.
Emergency services were called to Lilyvale, near Helensburgh, just before 2pm to reports of a crash on Lady Wakehurst Drive. Officers arrived to discover a Nissan 200SX driven by Sleiman had crashed into a tree.
Sleiman was taken to St George Hospital with hip and arm injuries but his passenger, Emrah Nokic, could not be saved and died at the scene.
Officers from the Southern Crash Investigation Unit launched an examination of the scene, resulting in police formally charging Sleiman with seven offences in June last year before other charges were laid at a later date.
Sleiman's Nissan 200SX featured prominently on his Facebook page before the crash.
The case was adjourned to April 27 in Wollongong District Court for Sleiman to be arraigned.
