Trainer Luke Price acknowledges that's where she will end up in the near future, but exactly when she gets there is up to the mare.
A dominant performance on her home track in a 2000 metres BenchMark 64 on Saturday will go a long way to prolonging her racing career.
"If she doesn't perform on Saturday, the breeding barn's calling," Price said. "With her pedigree she's wanted as a broodmare, so her racing days are limited."
Likely to join Tochi as a broodmare in the coming months is fellow Price horse Liveinthefastlane. The five-year-old will contest a 1500m BenchMark 78 at Rosehill on Saturday in what could be the final race of her career.
Tochi's rise up the rankings last January and February was as unlikely as it was unexpected.
The mare arrived at the Price stable in mid-2019 unraced and with two below-par trials for Joe Pride.
Expectations were low, the father-son duo just hoping Tochi would register a few wins in the country. She did that and more, a win at Goulburn in her first prep setting the tone for things to come.
Three victories during her next campaign, including two at Canterbury had the Prices eyeing a Saturday-city triumph and even potentially some black-type success.
Since that climb, however, Tochi has struggled to reach those same heights, her last win back in August.
A number of tough performances this preparation have the five-year-old earmarked for retirement, but Price remains confident she can return to winning form.
"She seemed like she was going well in trackwork, she's been quite laidback but something just wasn't right last start.
"We have tried to find the easiest race possible to get her back into form. She's been going well, blinkers on are a big key, with a good rider (Blaike McDougall) she'll roll forward and hopefully her class carries her home."
Horses are likely to race on a wet track on Saturday, the course rated a soft seven on Thursday and more rain forecast over the coming days.
That is music to Jamie Stewart's ears, the Moruya trainer preparing Mr Magical for the step up from country to provincial grade after back-to-back victories.
The four-year-old will contest a 1200m conditional BenchMark 68, and with four of his five wins coming on a soft or heavy track, Stewart is confident of a successful trip to Kembla Grange.
"I think he's a genuine winning chance," Stewart said. "I wouldn't be going there if he wasn't.
"He's taken a lot of confidence out of his last few wins. He's been applying himself to track work and carrying that on through races. He's a confident horse right now.
"Barrier one suits him well, he'll jump out, be on the speed and should be in the race for a fairly long way."
