Wollongong Wolves SAP technical director Jacob Timpano said it would be interesting to see whether the NSW NPL and South Coast competitions were extended when football returns.
"We've been in this situation before, it's disappointing for all of the people involved in football. But hopefully it's only for a short time and things can get up and running in a few weeks," Timpano said.
"My opinion, at this stage, is if it's only for a couple of weeks, I can't see why the seasons wouldn't just be extended, because there is a lot of time at the back end of the year. But the situation is always changing. If it does go longer, it's going to cause a lot of disappointment and rejigging of competitions and fixtures. Fingers crossed, it's only for a short time frame."
