The South Coast Blaze goal attack and her NSW under 17s teammates had arrived in Tasmania and started preparations for the National Championships.
Then the latest COVID outbreak happened. The competition was cancelled and Evans was on a plane home before the borders closed.

"I was very excited, it meant everything. I've dreamed of playing in the NSW dress since I was a little girl and going out on court with my teammates.
"We then flew down to Hobart early to quarantine. And then receiving news of the cancellation was devastating. But I'm staying motivated and can't wait to get back on the court with the girls."
