Brianna Lenehan chose not to front Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday during a brief mention of her matter, instead leaving defence lawyer Laura Fennell to speak on her behalf.
The court heard Lenehan stands accused of recklessly wounding a man during an incident in Campbelltown in June and was on conditional bail for that incident when she allegedly stabbed Senior Constable Michael Brown in the hand on Saturday night.
A statement issued by police on Sunday said officers were called to a neighbourhood dispute in Tucker Avenue just after 9.30pm.
Officers attended Lenehan's home and spoke with her and an 18-year-old man, before the two were placed under arrest. However, it is alleged when police went to apprehend Lenehan, she grabbed a knife and lunged at Snr Cst Brown, stabbing him in the hand as he tried to deploy his Taser.
Lenehan was the detained by another officer at the scene.
Snr Cst Brown was taken to Wollongong Hospital for treatment for a 4cm laceration on his palm but has since been released.
Meanwhile, Lenehan and the teen were taken to Wollongong Police Station where Lenehan was charged with six offences including wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and using an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention.
The teen was charged with using intimidation to unlawfully influence a person or damage property and released on bail to front court in September.
Lenehan, who remains in custody, will reappear in court on September 15.
