One woman awoke on Tuesday morning to find a sky-blue symbol emblazoned across the back door of her white hatchback, which had been parked in Organs Road, Bulli.
The woman took to social media to ask if anyone else had experienced the same and while some commenters pointed out the arms of the symbol - an ancient religious symbol - pointed the opposite way to that of the emblem the Nazis adopted, others noted it was unlikely the vandals were trying to spread a divine message.
A similar symbol that looked like a botched swastika was spotted on another white car in Hay Street, Gwynneville on Wednesday morning, painted in the same shade of blue.
Meanwhile, another vehicle in Organs Road, a white van, had the word C--T sprayed across it, again in the same colour.
This vandalism is inconvenient and can be expensive for the victims, but it has further-reaching impacts, too.
One woman said she had seen racist comments graffitied on signs outside Waniora Public School on multiple occasions.
While the school was always efficient in removing it, she said, it was "really horrible" for her young daughter, a Wiradjuri and Palawa girl, to have to see it.
Police encourage anyone who has been targeted to come forward and contact Wollongong Police on 4226 7899.
