Wollongong event organisers Yours and Owls are teaming up with Sydney artist management and international touring agency, Astral People, to host The Last Dance on Monday December 31, kicking off at 7pm.
Event Manager Baluun Jones said the proposed licenced over-18s event would feature respected overseas and Australian DJs.
“We did a New Year's Eve party in Crown Lane, Wollongong, in collaboration with Astral a couple of years ago, and have been looking at other opportunities ever since,” he said.
“The guys from Yours and Owls all grew up in the northern suburbs and it's a great site so we're keen to put on something different.
“It gives people an alternative to house parties or going into Wollongong, and we think it will be a really relaxed, fun party.”
According to the development application lodged with the council, the site has a capacity of 3500 people, and ticket prices would start at $60.
A free event shuttle bus would operate between midnight and 3.30am to transport partygoers between the event, Thirroul village and Wollongong.
DA documents reveal that sound contractors have devised a four-point sound system for the proposed event to ensure all sound is directed onto the crowd area and away from neighbouring residents.
A customer hotline would also be in operation for neighbours to call if they had concerns about noise levels.
Yours and Owls announced a NYE event on its Facebook page on Thursday, naming Motor City Drum Ensemble as part of the line-up.
The DA is on public exhibition until September 12.
