THE WRONG CLIMATE
There was a time when politicians were never allowed to set foot in our classrooms and politics in any form in schools was banned. However, in this troubling society these once important taboos have vanished. We now see frequent news footage of politicians sitting in class rooms interacting with young children.

Even worse, we are allowing educators to impart their political philosophies to our children, and allow leftist organisations, in concert with schools and funded by tax payers, to organise politically-motivated, climate change protests for students during school hours. It's undeniable that attitudes and beliefs held by children and teenagers change as they mature and live in the "real" world, and often finish up becoming completely opposite to those they once held.
Tragically, we are allowing a generation of naive Australian youth to be brain-washed by ideologues to help destroy this country's economy. Clearly these young people have been indoctrinated with single-sided points of view, and too ill-equipped, or uneducated, to understand how the objectives of their actions, if successful, will impact on them and their loved-ones into the future.

SOMETHING NOT RIGHT
In response to the students rally for climate change, there is something weird about the way our children are being taught. Our children seem to know everything about gender fluidity and climate change, yet know nothing about the important role that coal plays across the world.
Coal is fundermental in producing steel, so no more wind turbines, solar panels, mobiles, Ipads, computers, cars, trucks, planes and engines. But further no more stoves, fridges, kitchen appliances, tools for metal and woodwork trades, and no more steel for building construction. Now consider the jobs lost, increases in families struggling and the major loss of trade and economic activity. Climate change is a train wreck on steroids for this country.

A CRYING SHAME
For the past 40 years I have enjoyed Friday night dinner at the Stanwell Park kiosk (under a succession of concession-holders). Friendly, competent, inexpensive, ordinary meals.
After demolishing the proprietor's residence and building a new kiosk, Wollongong Council has given the lease to an out-of-village provider who has little apparent appreciation of the locals, having already shut up shop early one Friday night. We can anticipate a lack of service during the coming months. What a shame for visitors and locals.

TREES UNDER ATTACK
How disappointing for the people of Dapto that the street trees along the highway have once again been butchered to within an inch of their life by Endeavour Energy. This company should be fined for vandalising public property. Where is the accountability?
They were only just recovering from the last attack a few years ago. Why don't we work out a system that trees can be pruned enough to protect electricity assets annually, not attacked like this every five years?
