Because the Australian people rejected "outright" the extreme left-wing agenda of Labor, apparently we're selfish, greedy and heartless?
Talk about nasty and sour grapes from the left.
Actually, the people understood the situation very well.
Labor's wealth redistribution policies, disincentives to both save and invest, imposed gender ideology, pushing anti-life agenda, restricting both freedom of speech and thought while imposing atheism.
Our nation has clearly dodged a divisive and destructive agenda.
Thank God!

NATIONALS ARE BACK
May I take this opportunity to congratulate Fiona Phillips and the ALP team on winning the seat of Gilmore in last Saturday's election.
The ALP ran a very well-resourced and organised campaign and they did very well as a result.
I'm quite sure everyone is relieved that the election is finally over.
May I also take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers who have assisted me, and all those who voted for me, in my campaign for Gilmore.
I owe each of you a debt of gratitude and I am most appreciative of the faith that you have shown in me.
Whilst our campaign itself was unsuccessful, we did very well from a standing start and it was a terrific learning experience for both myself and my team.
Following a 25-year absence, The Nationals are very happy to be back on the ground in Gilmore.
I also wish to congratulate our local media for your relentless advocacy.
There have been some fantastic (and frantic) announcements made during this election campaign, and you have been at the forefront of announcing them.
I am sure you will be keen to keep the new member to account in successfully lobbying government for these to come to fruition.
Thank you once again everyone for your support, and congratulations again to Fiona Phillips on her successful campaign.

A MIRACLE WORKER
I must admit that the first sentence uttered by our recently re-elected Prime Minister, namely, "I believe in miracles," has given me food for thought.
If it was simply a figure of speech, aimed at recognising his unlikely victory, then I'm okay with that.
The thought has occurred to me however that in view of his commitment to a charismatic religion it may be possible that he really does believe in miracles.
If so I would have some concern over having a Prime Minister who may give some weight to supernatural considerations when making political decisions.
Might he for instance, take into account the possibility of people being able to walk on water, when formulating refugee policy.
Just wondering.
