The Global Games, run by the International Federation for Athletes with Intellectual Impairments, will see athletes from more than 75 countries descend on Brisbane for the major competition.
Dyer is one of 39 swimmers picked in the Australian team for the October event, with the multi-discipline star set to don the green and gold for the first time. The selection comes on the back of an impressive string of results for the 18-year-old.
The Wollongong Swimming Club representative blitzed his competition at the Australian Age Swimming Championships in April, winning two gold, four silver and three bronze medals.
Swimming is one of six sports that will be contested at the Global Games, a major competition held every four years.
