Despite two desperate attempts for play to go ahead, persistent rain meant a ball wasn't even bowled in Cricket Illawarra's first grade final between Northern Districts and University.
Players, officials and spectators waited at the ground for close to two hours before the game was officially abandoned.
However, Cricket Illawarra confirmed via social media that both teams had agreed to replay the match in the coming weeks. That date has not yet been confirmed.
Sunday wasn't a complete missed opportunity for Illawarra cricketers as the second, third and fourth grade T20 deciders went ahead.
Northern Districts won the second grade title, Keira took home the third grade silverware while Wollongong Gold were declared fourth grade T20 champions.
