Lexie Farland, Ella Johansson and Nina Teague secured their invitation after participating in the prestigious National Youth Science Forum earlier this year.
Kiama High School science teacher Ruth Power said the trio were part of seven Year 12 students who took part in the NYSF.
"For seven students to initially be selected into the National Youth Science Forum was an amazing outcome for Kiama High School. Prior to this year, the most we had selected was four students," Ms Power said.
"For these three students to pursue a further option and travel internationally to London just means they will be chasing their dreams.
"The hope every teacher has is that their students get the opportunity to pursue their dreams. London gives the girls this chance and opens a lot of opportunities in the future for the students to explore where science can take them."
Lexie thanked her teachers for all their support, adding she couldn't wait to head to London.
"I'm excited, I can't wait. It's going to be great," she said.
"I never dreamt I'd have this opportunity to travel overseas and meet like-minded people looking to explore where science can take them."
Nina was also looking forward to the "amazing opportunity to go overseas and learn in a new academic environment".
"I'm very excited. It is an incredible opportunity. We get to visit such prestigious facilities such as Oxford and Cambridge University and we are housed at the Imperial College of London," she said.
"I'm so excited to connect with other peers from around the world.
"There will be people there from 70 different countries so it will be really exciting to learn about new perspectives on science and meet other like-minded individuals."
Ella hoped the trip to London would help her decide on her future career.
"I think it will definitely help me narrow down exactly what I want to do after school. It's going to be great meeting up with different people and just exploring everything we can learn about science," she said.
The trio praised their teachers for their support as well as Kiama and Gerringong Rotary for backing them financially at the NYSF and the upcoming trip to London.
"We'd appreciate any financial support we can get. The trip, flights and associated activities are quite costly. We have set up a GoFundMe page. Any assistance would be appreciated," Ella said.
