The full program of entertainment was launched on Thursday with the Melbourne-based singer-songwriter more than happy to return to her home town for free event on November 10.
The program has kept a later time table with activities beginning at midday and running through until 9pm at MacCabe Park.
ERTH theatre group will bring their Dinosaur Zoo filled with prehistoric puppets, just as interesting to the adults as they are children.
While singer-songwriter Sandridge – who grew up in Stanwell Park – will head the musical contingent which will also include surf-rock four-piece Caravana Sun and Japanese ska group the Stompin’ Riff Raffs.
Circus, cabaret, multicultural performances and food, a short film festival, dedicated children’s activities, craft and stalls will also be part of the festival which has been running for more than two decades.
“When you walk around the stalls you realise the diversity and the culture of Wollongong,” Deputy Lord Mayor David Brown said.
“That’s one of the things that strikes me, that people there are enjoying cultures they may not know anything about.”
A giant loom – set up as an interactive community art project – will also be calling for extra hands to complete a textile artwork for the city.
Other workshops the public can take part in include Persian Calligraphy, recycling, Falun Dafa origami, lantern painting and ceramic ornament making.
